Car hire at Prestwick Airport Glasgow

Prestwick airport, now called Prestwick Glasgow airport is some 32miles from Glasgow and just outside the town of Prestwick itself. Because of its convenience to so many of Scotland’s historic places it’s a great starting point in any journey to Scotland.
Major car rental companies have desks within the airport including Herzt, Europcar, Alamo, National and Avis. The terminal was opened in 1964 and usage has grown steadily, the airport is still small enough to retain its friendly feel and you should enjoy your transit through this up and coming airport.
The facilities provided by the airport include two suites which you can hire, the Aviator Suite caters for parties of between 60 and 200 people, with its own private lounge bar and a range of buffet menus available it makes doing business at the airport easy and effective.

If you are dropping off or picking up passengers you should be aware that there is no drop off/pick up point in front of the airport, you should drop or pick up your passengers in the designated areas in car parks 1 & 2.
Apart from Prestwick itself the closest town is Kilmarnock at 10 miles, followed by Glasgow at 32, Edinburgh is only 80 miles and Stirling 60 so you have plenty to explore should you choose to hire a car at Prestwick airport.
Closer to home you may want to go and visit Scotland’s largest and arguably finest 13th century castle, although a ruin now, you can still some of the original stonework and get a feel for what the site was like in its heyday.
